For Priceline: The price they show you is the so called 'lowest price' they have for immediate booking. But NOT the 'Name your own price'. That is why you see the quoted is higher than actual hotels website. If you familiar with Priceline 'Name Your Own Price' then you probably can get ~30% off.
Good luck

Niagra & Priceline
Looking to spend the weekend in Niagra Falls, how do you get great deals on 4*hotel rooms @ Priceline or Hotwire? Seems I'm getting quoted in US and when I check the actual hotels website I get a better rate in Canadian. WTF?????
Thanks

Feb 24th, 2006 10:58 AM #3I think you can probably get a lot more than 30% off depending on how much availability there is. I've booked quite a bit through Priceline and I usually get 50% or more off the rack rates. Eg. Last month I was able to book a hotel in LA for $39 a night for part of my stay. For the last part of it I book directly through the same hotel and best I could get was $99 and that was with a AAA discount (reg. was $129 I believe).

If it helps, just last week I used PriceLine and I got a 4* Renaissance Fallsview Niagara Falls (ONT) on 2/20 for $55 US.
I imagine, it would be a fair bit more for a weekend stay though.Last edited by cavanagh; Feb 24th, 2006 at 02:22 PM.

easy way to get a hotel for cheap in niagara:
do not visit on a friday or saturday, do not go in summer months
if you can plan your trip on a sunday/monday you can get rooms as low as $59 bucks at most of the high end hotels (Hilton, Renaissance, Embassy, etc)
