Nigeria email scam help
A co-worker of mine selling her house, and she has some advertisements online for it. A few days ago she got an email from a country not too far from Nigeria, with bad english stating that he was interested in buying the house. Second email he sends a picture of a passport, and now he says he wants to buy the house but URGENTLY needs her banking information.
I know this is a complete scam, as this is pretty much a Nigeria internet scam by definition. However, my co-worker actually believes he is a legit buyer. I'm trying to convince her otherwise, but i'm afraid she's going to give out her banking information. She says the guy can't take money out anyway since the account isn't his.
I looked on the internet but all I can find are 419 scams, and those are in regards to offers of sharing $40 million and such. I can't find any examples of fishing for account information by pretending to buy real estate. Does anyone know any links I can show her to prove without a doubt that this is a scam?
