Nighthawk platinum vs Sylvania xtravision

Which is better. Nighthawk at rock auto is about $35
Vs $35 for Sylvania Xtra vision at canadian tire.

Prolly get some fog lamps also for night driving in rain.

The Xtra-Visions are a safe bet they're your typical +30% bulb. What type of car/bulb are you loooking to get.

I'm giving you +1 just because you didn't go straight to the HID/LED in reflectors route.

We get shafted in North America. There aren't too many good +30 - +50 type bulbs. They usually take +30 and put stupid colored films on. You best bet really are The Xtra-Vision or the Nighthawks that don't have the Coating.

Also not all "+" bulbs are equal, the 9006, 9005 (pretty typical) are kinda bad. The H-series fair a bit better as they're based around European or newer bulb standards which have tighter filament tolerances.

AKA the H4. Which Car do you have? If you want better lights there's chance you can get E Codes.

Otherwise the best off the shell easily obtainable will be the H4/9003 Xtra-vision. More light with no fancy coatings or promise of it being whiter.

Trash.
There's only 1 H4 LED on the market that comes close to the optical performance of a standard H4 and it's made by Philips
Theyre close to $300 for a set of bulbs.

I would recommend Philips (https://www.amazon.ca/Philips-9005PRB2- ... ights&th=1)

They have different trims, Standard, Vision (+30% lgiht), VisionPlus (+60% light), X-tremeVision (+100% light), and CrystalVision. They are definitely a lot cheaper than what you can get at Canadian Tire.

I bought the CrystalVision on my XL7 and the VisionPlus on my VW Golf. So far so good!

Not gonna lie. When I had my Mazda 3, I cheaped out and got the halogen projector headlamps. I had the urge for higher light output and tried many high output bulbs from several brands. All of which lasted about 6 months before burning out. Never again did I buy cars without led or xenon lighting. It's going to be a waste of money down the road if your quest is for more light output.

Any bulb that uses clear, untinted glass is your best bet.
Anything with a blue, green, yelow, etc, coating is cutting down on the amount of light being output and doesn't help your cause.
