I've been shopping this camera class for a couple of weeks now. I like everything about this camera except the video - seems to be some issues with the HD recording and the image stabilization system.

Memory Express had it for, I think, $229 CAD a couple of weeks ago.

I saw that the Canon SX230HS is $225 USD on B&H. That's a typical price for the USA right now but best I've been able to find in Canada is $292.

Tempted by this, was actually looking at the s8200, but thinking I'll hold off for the s9300, which has the built in GPS.
I'd love to hear thoughts for/against the idea (s8200/s9100/s9300).

Amazon/com has it for $180 USA ship. I have been looking to get this camera locally but like a good CDN, I will shop south of the border.

Canon SX230HS and Coolpix S9100 were recommended in the in the trave lzoom pocket cam cmparo (www.dpreview.com), however the Canon was slightly better.

I personally prefer the coolpix s9100 due to its wide angle lens (25-450mm), light wight and it sits really well in the hand, Don't care for the GPS.

The canon has the 28mm lens and it's really awkward to hold due to its 16x9 screen.

The best of the pack is casio EX-FH100 BUT good luck finding one, It's been discontinued.

I called B&H and ordered the camera for delivery to a NY state address, and there was no problem at all using a Canadian credit card or Canadian billing address. Because B&H is in NY and I am getting it delivered in NY, I had to pay $12.60 in taxes, but it is still a great price. If you are getting it delivered to another state, there will be no tax.

I'm picking up a couple of items so doing a US pickup works out for me this time.
