Any D7000 deals out there? Henry's has it for $799 which isn't bad but I was wondering if anyone was able to beat that.
Was originally in the market for a D90 (yes its old but it has much better control than the D3200 or D5100), but with the D7000's price falling, I think it might be a better buy (especially when used D7000 are priced about the same as new).
Not looking for lenses, I think I can do better on Kijiji for those...

I'm in the same boat, I believe AdenCamera has the D7000 for 769 but still out of my $$ range. Henrys should be able to match them if you're not near Aden.

I would wait a couple of weeks for CES on Jan 8-11. If Nikon announces a D7000 replacement then the D7000 could soon be clearance priced. I think its possible because everywhere seems to be selling the D7000 at a big discount and its been out two years which is about due for a replacement model. From what I've read the D5200 will officially be announced for the US market at CES, no word on a D7000 replacement.

Does this mean the MB-D11 Vertical Grip would be clearance priced? I have been waiting to purchase one of those.

With a PM with Aden, that would be a few bucks off. Was hoping to go a little lower.

I realize that the D7000 is nearing the end of its life-cycle but I don't see it being disappearing from the Nikon DX line-up. The D5200 has already been released in other parts of the world and like the D3200 its a beefed up version its predecessor (D5100). The D7000 replacement will likely have the same 24MP image sensor as the D3200/D5200 and a few other features (like better video). If that is the case, then the D7000 will take the place of the old D90 (where its was situated between the D5100 and D7000) and be priced between the D5200 and the D7X00.
The D7X00 when released will definitely be out of my budget and I won't really see the need to upgrade. As I've come to understand, MP count isn't that important. The main thing that is important is the camera's functionality. The ability to change things without constantly having to go through a menu is key. That's why the D90 was such a success and the D7000 followed in its footsteps.

$729.99 at Blacks. Next lowest price is $739.95 at Vistek. I also am waiting for a larger price drop with the expectation of the D7200 coming out soon.

The combo price might be the better option w/ 18-105mm lens for $1K at BB or FS etc. http://www.photoprice.ca/product/033...Kit-price.html_______________

I PMed at Henry's for $739.99 just before New Year's. I purchased the extended warranty as well. Aside from the coverage it does extended the price protection from 15 days to 30 days. If Nikon does make any announcements during CES and a price drop follows, I can have the difference refunded.
In regards to the 18-105mm, the $260 extra is a good deal but I was not particularly interested in that lens. I'd rather get something better. For an extra $200 you can grab a Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4. It may not have the reach of the 18-105 but its much better optically. If you want to stick with Nikon then the 16-85mm VR would probably be a good choice but it would be way more than the Sigma.
