Not to continue to dredge up this thread, but I was there yesterday (for the first time) and their stock was really light. Mostly P&S cameras, a D90 and some other older bodies. Hardly anything with respect to pro lenses. Apparently they have a high amount of requests for things like the 70-200 f2.8 and D800, but they haven't really had any to put into the case lately. My search continues!

It was fine, only a relatively small percentage of D800's were confirmed to suffer the left-focusing issue and Nikon has long since issued a fix for it.

Oh then why are there so many refurbs available?

You do realize that people do return things for reasons beyond "it's busted" or solely because there's a focusing issue. Maybe they just didn't like it? I know more then a few shooters who bought a D800 and then returned it a week later because they didn't want to deal with the massive RAW files, and not because they experienced any focusing issues. Maybe they got their bodies replaced under warranty and Nikon repaired whatever damage there was and is reselling it? Same thing regarding exchanges. A lot of stores also buy back equipment. The number of refurbs available on the market is not indicative of a product's return rate.

One other thing, the Nikon Repair Centre in Mississauga handles all first party repairs in Canada, for the entire country. That means the 8 refurbed D800 bodies they have in stock is their inventory for all of Canada. If you think about it, that isn't a lot at.

i just made an account to say thanks to everyone who updates this thread and especially for the update on the D800 refurbs as that's what I'e been waiting for. I just ordered one and for those interested they still have around 10 in stock. I asked if she knew what was wrong with them before, she said she didn't have that info but the majority of the time its just returned store stock.

Was just there today for the first time, saw a D800 and D600 on the shelf. Didn't have time to check exact prices though, distracted by cute receptionist :)
I like how you can see the repair lab from the side window, saw so many lenses being torn apart

I got a D800 shipped to Manitoba! They shipped it Purolator Air for only 15 or 20 and it arrived the next day!!! And only 5% tax! And the shutter count was only 510 (serial number 5008xxx)!!! You can tell I'm very happy. Now if only the CF cards are cheaper...

Just wondering if anyone has been there recently and saw a D800 or a 70-200 f2.8? I called and was told "no" but I think she was just too lazy to look.
I've never had a bad experience with the service there and the display case with what they have in stock is right by reception so when they tell you no I'm pretty sure they genuinely mean there isn't

Anybody been there lately? Is this final sale? I'm interested in either D800 or a D600/D610. =)
