Hey guys, I went there today. Here is what I found.

D800 $2299 (price went up?)
D600 $1399 (not bad!)

I don't think the price went up, it's just that they had a 10% discount around November. Remember if you're out of province they only charge 5% tax... and shipping is only $20! But even the first Christmas the D600 with kit sold for $2k and a lot of people sold the kit lens on CL bringing down the price to around 1600. So the D800 deal is somewhat better I think...

1. Has anyone been to this lately? Would love to know some of the prices.

2. Apparently a new D800/e replacement will be announced...that's going to drop by price right? (yay!)

3. Good/fast ways to get rid of some old gear.

I picked up a D610 for 17XX something. Takes better quality photos then my D800. I have to drop it off at Nikon for service as its soft images and poor focusing is killing me. Same lens and settings on a D610 its sharp!

Just curious, has anyone ever had problems with the camera *after* being serviced? Or are they fairly trustworthy?

I'm thinking about getting my D3s shutter replaced.

But where else are you going to take it to? Why replace the shutter if it's not broken? Are you NPS? That's what the backup camera is for.

Because of the high MP count, you need VERY steady hand or shoot from tripod to get sharp photos from the D8x0 cameras. It's very well documented.

Old post, however Nikon did have to adjust my D800(for free too), and now with my handy dandy 70-200 f2.8 on it takes such sharp pictures.

It was under warranty and warranty was expiring soon. Made it a bullet point for selling. And sold a while ago! Was a fine camera, but a big beast nonetheless.

Not sure if they will replace the shutter if it's not broken. Are you NPS?

Not NPS, well then that's an even tougher argument.

Yea well I'm sure they get a lot of those...

They didn't put up any resistance. The camera was under extended warranty from Henry's, so what did they care. *grin*
