Thanks for the heads up, getting a real FFVI vibe from that video. Going to grab the demo tonight.

I'm finally off-shift, so I downloaded the Octopath demo. I only played the dancer portion because I don't want to spoil too much. I'm really looking forward to this game now - the production is really nice, the writing is solid, and I though the localization in the demo was outstanding. The dancers path action was neat too - there's I think six people you can choose to take with you in the demo and they all have different levels and abilities to use.

If you don't mind spoiling yourself a bit, the scope of the demo goes well beyond the two available story paths in terms of side content.

I'm also really intrigued that the demo doesn't shy away from Primrose' situation at all.

The Octopath demo was absolutely awesome. It's nice to have a demo where you can actually play the game and get a little bit of time investment into it. Definitely makes me want to pick it up when it releases

I finished the Project Octopath Traveler demo last night as well, did the dancer path first. Wow that was a surprisingly dark storyline and the voice acting was over the top in a good way. Really enjoyed it. I hope they do put in a minimap and decrease the insane Depth of Field stuff but beyond that it looks right up my alley. Super excited to play the full thing.

Problem with Octopath is it feels more like a 3DS game then a Switch game

Anyone out there have a preschooler and a Switch? My son (3.5) loves Super Mario Run on the iPad, wondering if he can make the jump to a console just yet. Experiences?

Honestly I would not really recommend it. You would be much better off with a Wiiu. The reason being is right now there just in much software available for preschoolers. I have a couple on that age category and the switch goes largely unutilized by them but they play the Wiiu often.

Thanks! Off-topic slightly, but what are they playing on the Wii U?

Their favorites:
Super Mario 3D world, New Super Mario Brothers, Yoshi's Wooly World, Kirbys Epic Yarn, Mario Party are all that immediately comes to mind. Both my older kids (7 & 4) are a bit obsessed with anything Nintendo but these are the games they mostly come back too.

Anything beyond these simple/inviting 2D/3D platformers is sort of our of their element and these don't exist on Switch yet.

In terms of Switch games, my 7 year old is coming around and has started to enjoy Zelda:BOTW quite a bit but the only thing my 4 year old has any interest in is hilariously Puyo Puyo Tetris.

Nintendo is encouraging mature titles on the Switch as they position their platform for adults.

http://ca.ign.com/articles/2017/10/15/n ... -on-switch

No surprise here. It's been two decades since gaming consoles were primary targeted towards kids and teens.

The average age of people that consume games is now in their mid 30s. And the male to female ratio is almost even.
