Good system if you don't want your kid going online for gaming. A great system for older generation if this works with the wii fit. I know my grandparents enjoyed the wii at my place but would be overwhelmed if they had one. If this is truly plug n play setup then it would be great. Also, bang on with the colour choices! Now if only the wii u came in the colours. Not a bad idea if you need controllers for your wii u and can use the mini console as a party system.
Also having it without wifi makes it office friendly depending on where you work.
I hope it doesn't sell out though... we don't need to see companies doing this often.

no wifi or internet play??
ARE YOU F**KING KIDDING ME here, Nintendo??
how much does it cost you to build a wifi chip?? 1-2 dollars? We all know that this is, a cash grab for Christmas. Poor parents will get suckered in to buy it due to its now price, and force to buy again once they found out too late that this is just a piece of sh*T!_______________

When you resell it for profit, you'll have broken the $100 barrier and will probably be selling for $120... which is the price for a Wii anyway.

I would believe that Canada is being used as a test market except for the fact that everything is so much more expensive than choosing a random city in the US - distribution, bilingual, etc._______________

Read that this thing doesn't have internet connectivity. Not sure how this is possible since most of the built-in functions of the Wii is tied to the internet.

I can imagine a child somewhere wanting a Wii-U for Christmas. Then the clueless soccer mom will walk into Walmart asking for the newest Wii system, and proudly walk out with the Wii Mini.

I find this to be quite a good deal.
Just a wii remote plus and a nunchuk costs retail 74.98$ + taxes which you kinda need for your Wii U.
So for a mere 25$ extra, you get the console as well. You can sell the console on ebay as a collectors item and profit._______________
Good...Good...

The Wii itself should be under $99, especially when MS can afford to sell 360 arcades that low.
you can pretty much guarantee this thing will be hackable out of the box. Just need to know if it has USB ports or not.

Gamecube backwards compatibility has already been stripped out of Wii - the $149 black Wiis bundled with New Super Mario Brothers that stores all stock these days are NOT Gamecube capable. The ports are gone and software removed. You'd have to find old stock of white Wiis to get GC backwards compatibility.
That said, removing Wifi would kill this for my family. Our Wii spends equal time running Netflix as it does playing games.
Black Wiis were $99 at SDM this past weekend and I'm sure we'll see that price again from time to time.

Better off checking Kijiji for an original, fully functional Wii. With people upgrading to the Wii U, there should be lots available. At the current retail price, a used one couldn't really go for much more than 50 bucks.
