Good Deal, good for day to day use. I would say 15.6 is a sweet spot these days.

Very good first post. You may want to include the price in the title (though this is not a hard rule).

From the 2 or 3 refurb laptop links I'velooked at over the years, is this the standard? Seems a little rough. $80 for a 1yr wty period. What sort of refurb is this? 10/10 cosmetically? I'm digging the 33% off...66% would be beautiful ;).

I have ordered refurbished laptops from nmicro before. Definitely 10/10 like new condition.

If price is right for you then i wouldnt hesitate to buy from them. Good customer service and easy return if necessary.

If you're into refurbs., Where is the best place to find a napalm calibre deal? I'm dreaming of one of those 60%+ deals form newegg or ncix type listings. What's the best you've ever seen there on savings? 33% is pretty solid., but I'm sure it's been hotter?

I have bought from nmicro many times. Everything has always been in excellent condition with the exception of one tablet which they exchange without issue. They are a legit company and deal mostly to government here in Ottawa. They always have excellent prices on factory refurbished asus items that are in very good, like new condition.

I've ordered refurbs from them before. Good quality, usually seems like factory returns. Got a monitor once that had a problem and they shipped out a new one right away.

I've ordered 2 laptop's in the past, both still going strong years later without issue.

If anyone is looking for a new 15.6" gaming laptop with very similar specs to this one but a better 4K touchscreen and slightly better graphics card (4gb vs 2gb), the Dell i7559-5012GRY goes on sale fairly regularly for $999.99 at the Microsoft store. It's currently regular price at $1399.99 but I got mine for $850 about 3 months ago, which is why I ended up cancelling my order from the Lenovo black Friday deal. Also doesn't have a bilingual keyboard.

The US site has had the i7559-5012GRY on sale for $749 USD for a while now.

Well, evidently whatever I was somewhat cautioning against is m00t, given the resounding support for the deal & store.

To me, being as absent-minded as I am, I was more amazed at how OP remembers the pwd log in from 6+yrs ago LOL. Unless....do you lurkers 'sign-in' daily? If so...why? You're not posting.

Sorry to TJ.

I've been looking for a clean slick laptop (power machine) for my dads 'browsing' & youtub'ing. Something like a slim hp envy or what not. Is this anywhere in that category? is it overkill? I want super overkill, in that he'll never need another laptop again.

Whoa! Newegg one has it 16Gb Ram instead of 8. How much is 8Gb ram as an upgrade anyway? I'd say if you're a gamer, wouldn't NEW Plus an extra 8Gb Ram be worth $150?

Hmmm., some quick math.

So the Ram is $75. The 1yr wty is $80. So for the NEW Laptop, you're only paying for the Ram really (and arguably a better priced ram?) I'm assuming on a 1K product you'd be buying the 1yr wty anyway.

I'm curious on Refurb purchases. When you buy it on an ext'd wty credit card, what is it doubling, in terms of the manufacturers wty? is it still 1 yr, or do they go by the refurb wty period of say 3months in this case, so just doubling to 6months?

I never bought from this website before, as I am just as skeptical about buying refurbishing stuff online without being able to see the real thing.
I am looking for a desktop rather than a laptop, and didn't find what I wanted. I thought this spec is pretty good even for a desktop.
I call a big and heavy laptop a mobile desktop. lol

As to Bubble.tea's comment. I didn't remember my password....got to have it reset and learn how to post properly
No sign in needed to read post. Just google whatever you want o buy.

Be Gentle to newbie. The best way to keep newbie out of posting and to bash the newbie on the first post.
Btw, it's not easy to beat all the RFDer to be the OP and not getting bash for repost.
