Rogers probably caught/fired the guys that were doing it inside. Unless Rogers had decided to intentionally turn a blind eye, it was bound to happen.

Well, all other iPhone models won't be impacted -- just the 5.

I thought that the internal guys would had a dump of IMEI of all the latest iP5 stock they had ... for example they hand out the IMEI list + unlock from their last shipment and every time they get a new shipment they would send out updates sort of thing!

Uh, because people travel? The main reason people buy on contract is because it's subsidized pricing. And finding a microsim isn't all that bad. I bought a nano sim cutter/stapler thing when I do travel with my iPhone 5

You will find out once you actually travel that, even in "third world" countries, micro SIMs are immensely easy to find.

Micro SIMs are easy to find, of chop down a regular miniSIM. Nano will be more difficult in both regards. But for anyone that travels out of the country even once per year can save a ton using local SIMs.
