I think I would take late fees over "buying" the movie. Of course I could return it and pay the "restocking" fee, but isn't that really just a late fee?
Even if everyone goes for the restocking fee option it still gives Blockbuster a lot of "free" money to play with. Notice how they are giving 30 days for the restock option? That makes it a lot easier for people either take a longer time to return the movie(giving Blockbuster more time with the money) or make them intend to return and forget(giving Blockbuster the money).

Here in the US, they also dropped their rental fee by a quarter in addition to the no late fees. So basically, a 3 day rental is now a week rental with no fees.
Pretty sweet. I hope Rogers does the same since they are closer to me
