Nokia 3310 is back!

Nokia link: https://www.nokia.com/en_int/phones/nokia-3310

The Nokia 3310 is officially back, and yes, it plays Snake

Nokia just announced the 3310, again. This time around, it’s a $50 handset that looks a lot thinner and lighter than the original. There’s a 2.4-inch all-color screen (!!!), a microSD slot, and a full two megapixel camera.

It comes in four colors: yellow, red, grey and dark blue. There’s precious little to do on the phone, because unlike the other new handsets Nokia just announced, it only runs Nokia’s new Series 30+ software, rather than Android. That means that there is a Snake game, but nothing else really to do. You can call, send basic picture messages, and that’s about it.

On the plus side, it also means much better battery life. Nokia is claiming 25 days with a 22 hour talk time, which is a lot better than you’d see from any iPhone.

Nokia’s new owner HMD has said that the phone will be available to buy sometime in Q2 this year, which each handset costing around $50.

2G only, so it's useless in Canada since only Rogers has a 2G network and that's probably going to be disabled soon if it hasn't already been disabled. Shame, because this would be a great phone for seniors...

I'm surprised their's no email app on it. My dad's Nokia bar phone from 10 years ago had an email app.

The biggest disappointment is that it doesn't seem to be built like a tank like the original 3310 was (and honestly, what everyone was expecting when they announced a re-release)

Even though most emerging markets now have 3G and 4G, majority of its users still use it only for calling or SMS so that's probably why it's only 2G.

I'm also assuming that they're probably using an older lower power chipset that probably only supports 2G.
