I don't mean to be picky, but how could they have left a digital compass off of this phone?
Other then that oversight, and the lack of 850MHz, this phone sounds great.

Nokia N900 started shipping today.
The wait is over.
http://conversations.nokia.com/2009/...gins-shipping/
No 3G unless you're on a AWS network (WIND, DAVE and Videotron). Nokia won't be making this phone in any other band. Works in 2G only on Fido and Rogers; won't work at all on Bell/Telus.
This is the new Nokia flagship device with Maemo/Linux and full Firefox browser (full Flash support). If you don't already know what it is, you probably don't want it.

*eagerly awaits reviews*
This thing appears to have everything that I find lacking in the iphone... and improved on everything I wanted in my N95. *@#!! @ no 3G though.
I came across this the other day.

The n800 can run android with VMware. I am presuming you could do the same with the n900. if that's the case then it opens up a whole other world of applications.

So, I ordered one on amazon.com. It's being shipped to a relative in the states that is sending it back to me. Reviews have been good so far. It is all going to depend on the development community.

with no 850mhz good luck trying to have a quality conversation anywhere that is not an open field.
If you wanna talk from your basement forget it.
Elevator forget it
The John forget it.
If you wanna kiss your mom goodnight over the phone you need to be standing on top of the CN tower to get reception.
All hail the almighty 850mhz
The E 72 is coming ... muuahahhahaha

No. Bell and Rogers has the spectrun license for this band, but they haven't built a network on it yet. Only WIND/DAVE/Videotron.
You could use a Bell Mifi and expose the wifi to it and use Bell 3G indirectly, but that's the closest you'll get to using their 3G until they build the network with the AWS they got.
