Non-refundable tax credits, do they transfer?

Non-refundable tax credits, do they transfer?

Do non-refundable tax credits transfer over more then one year? yes or no.

Well its the usual answer. It depends. :)

Most don't, such as:

[INDENT]basic personal
age credit (65+)
disability credit
pension credit
eligible dependant (formerly equivalent to married)
CPP/EI
caregiver[/INDENT]

However, the unused portion of a few non-refundable credits do carry over to the next year

[INDENT]Charitable donations can be carried forward 5 years
medical expenses can be claim for any 12 month period ending in the year
unused tuition and education credit amounts that are not transferred to a spouse or parent can be carried forward[/INDENT]

That's just off the top of my head.
