Got surprised seeing Northrock in february, there's slightly price increase comparing to last year.

Good pricing despite the increase. I'll probably pick it up this year.

Post a picture of the model, or link.

Decent for the price, but you probably could buy something used that is better quality (standard buying used caveat appliess) for the same price.

The biggest gotchas with buying from places like costco is that bikes like this are assembled by people who are paid to assemble them quickly and shittily.

These bikes have excellent components for the money and the frames are made by Giant. I bought an SCR1 a few years back, I assembled it myself. I would never buy one assembled in-store.

I agree with that and always preferable to bring it to bike repair store for overall inspection

Insider RFD tip. Cruise Kijiji for Northrock bikes. A lot of people don't know that they are a somewhat well made bike, and are selling cheap. I picked up a like new Northrock XWS womens bike for $150 last August.

Used vs. new is not a fair comparison... Compared to other retail options out there, these are great deals.

FYI, about the assembly: Costco sometimes has these online at costco.ca for the same price as the warehouse (was the case last year around April...). Then they arrive boxed up and you can assemble them yourself (Northrock has instructional videos online). If you ask in the warehouse, they might have some boxed up that they haven't put on the floor yet.

Are you a bike mechanic? Is the person buying it a bike mechanic?

If not, don't tell people to assemble bikes themselves. Otherwise you will come back and pay me $100/hour to unassemble and reassemble your crap job.

I did this for a living full time, 40 hours a week for almost a decade. Worked in the highest in road shop there is in this country. Most real bike mechanics can't even assemble this shit to a A+ standard.

Not to mention the state it comes out of the box is generally completely garbage. We pretty much tore down and reassembled all bikes from the box completely to get a professional build.
