NVIDIA GTX + AMD RADEON Graphic Card Prices + Finds. GTX 1060 / RX580 or better

Due to the market environment (Crypto Mining / Supply Shortages) this is a discussion thread for worth Graphics Cards at the BEST CURRENT market price.

As of recent, numerous cards are becoming available and being sold at MSRP again (instead of substantially higher prices) which is not considered a "Hot Deal"

This is the thread to post your findings!

Current cards of interest are:
  • GTX 1060 6GB
  • GTX 1070 and 1070 TI
  • GTX 1080 and 1080 TI
  • RADEON RX 580

Feel free to discuss other similar high performance cards like older generation GTX 970 or GTX 980's or pre-built systems with these components included.
Thread Summary
MSRP at Launch (in USD)

$199 GTX 1060 3GB (Aug. 2016) - approx. $255 CAD
$249 GTX 1060 6GB (July 2016) - approx. $320 CAD
$349 GTX 1070 (June 2016) - approx. $445 CAD
$449 GTX 1070 TI (Nov. 2017) - approx. $575 CAD
$599 GTX 1080 (May 2016) - approx. $770 CAD
$699 GTX 1080 TI (Mar. 2017) - approx. $895 CAD

$169 RX 570 (April 2017) - approx. $215 CAD
$229 RX 580 (April 2017) - approx. $295 CAD

These are the manufacturer posted rates - this varies of course by specific brand and model.

Thanks, it'll be nice to have one source for this discussion!
I'm anxiously waiting for the next generation cards that are coming out this year Smiling Face With Open Mouth And Smiling Eyesunless of course in the unlikely chance there are half-price (from MSRP) GTX 10xx series cards on sale!

I took advantage of the Lenovo Explorer deal despite running a 7870. I'm sure there are a few others in a similar boat looking for actual deals to upgrade their GPU so thanks for the thread! Glad to see prices are dropping and hopefully an actual deal will be here soon.

I saw the Aorus 1080 TI this morning on Amazon for 997 before coming unavailable, didn't consider it a good enough deal to warrant purchasing. At the rate prices are dropping, I'll be keeping my eye out daily. If things keep dropping, I don't know if I'll wait for the next gen of cards to come out.

A 1070 TI would be perfect right about now, to upgrade from a 1060 6GB

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 Mini ITX OC 8GB GDDR5 Graphics Cards GV-N1070IXOC-8GD on amazon.ca for $525.16
Heads up it's a single fan, which is fine but sometimes people prefer 2 fans.

Thanks. I just purchased one, though with the rate the prices have come down in the last week it may be too soon. It's probably for the best that it won't ship for another week in case I change my mind.

I get the impression the 1070 is probably the best value compared to the 1070TI/1080. Is it worth spending $100-200 more for those other cards for a few more FPS?

Yeah the prices seem to be coming down daily now and notably more and more inventory.

The 1070 is a great all round card, but the question is what resolution are you gaming at, and do you need ultra. For 1080p, a 1070 is almost overkill, but for 4K / UHD gaming, you may be better off with a GTX 1080 - or wait for the next generation of cards which will probably be much better at 4K and VR.

RX 460 is an entry level / starter GPU. For 1080P gaming, you might want to turn off a bunch of the settings and put the overall settings to low and up specific ones to medium. Will probably help your gaming experience a lot. If you spend some time googling for optimal performance settings for your card, you'll probably find some good sources.

PS. You have zero chance at having an enjoyable time gaming in 4K 60fps with that card.

You would be surprised how many bought the single fan 1060 and 1070 and then wonder why the had issues heavy mining with them.
That, btw, is not a bad price.
