Not bad.

What's nice about OCZ is that you can directly RMA their drives in Markham. You can RMA right on the spot. My Vertex 2 recently blew up so I had to. :(

You didn't have to start a ticket online? And you need receipt right?
My vertex 2 just won't boot starting this morning. Made me think twice about buying their product again. This is the 3rd time

There's 1 left at BB, for the Vertex 3. Price match against their 604.99$, for CC's 314.99$. That's the best deal right now, comes out for 284$ for a 240GB drive. I did this yesterday. Better be quick though :o

I've been itching to get an SSD in the $150 range, but it seems I always sell myself out of it by reading too many reviews.

It seems like any drive I read about is always nothing but "this is slow, firmware this, crashed that"

Most of the sandforce driver issues are pretty much solved now, disregard anything from pre-november regarding crashing, just update to the latest firmware and enjoy. Just pull the trigger man and enjoy.

I don't think I needed the receipt, but I did need to know the purchase date. I had the invoice in my email so it was easy. I started a ticket online.

I did like that I could swap the drive myself in Markham which I liked. It means you can basically RMA your drive all in the same day which is great.

It sucks that your Vertex 2 died as well. I took really good care of mine and didn't overuse it or anything. I think they call it the "cold boot" bug. :(

"slow" is relative. Look for reliable and don't sweat the benchmarks, the improvement over standard drive will be great with any SSD.

If I may, we need to consider that when people have a problem they run here, to the internet. If it cannot be solved, they need an avenue to vent and what better than the internet. This isn't the same with the 99% of people that are ecstatic about their drives because there is no reason to write the positive. If I may, I have tested just about EVERY SandForce drive from Day One and have never even once had a crash. To add to that, I could also not reproduce it by trying to make it happen. Having said that, I do know of one, and only one instance, where this happened to someone I knew.

Would you believe that I have assisted well over a hundred migrate to SSD personally?

Buy the SSD, install and ENJOY!

Pretty decent deals although I think SSD's in general are going down in price anyhow. I wouldn't mind picking up another 120 or even getting a 240 GB.
I wish we could get the MIR directly from here too lol. Took over 2 months for mine to arrive.

I've been happy with my intel 320 ssd. My friend has the vertex 3 and it's almost twice as fast to boot up as mine even though I have a faster processor.

I heard most of the problems with ocz were with pre-vertex 3 as someone above mentioned. So far no issues with either one. Hard disk drives seem so outmoded now!
