OCZ (Vertex) Vs. (Vertex Plus) Vs. (Vertex 2) Vs. (Vertex 3) SSD
So some of you might know that there is currently a sale on the Vertex Plus 120GB for $100 after mail in rebate.
I did some digging and found pretty much nothing in terms of reviews on the Vertex Plus. From what I gather, it's essentially a refresh of the Vertex.
My question is which drive is the best bang for it's bucks.
I heard that the Vertex 2 has the sandforce which is problematic, and also OCZ did a bait and switch where they changed to slower hardware but didn't change model number or anything like like that.
Vertex 3 sounds like it's the fastest benchmark wise, but I hear that in most real life applications, you will likely not see the difference between the Vertex 3 and the Vertex (Plus?).
My friend says the Vertex is first generation and thus slow, but I'm wondering if their refresh to "Vertex Plus" made it faster and how does it compare to Vertex (1/2/3).
Does anyone know if SSD prices will drop more quickly in the future or more slowly in the future. I've been holding off on upgrading, but the prices haven't come down too significantly for the last little while.
