My Experience
I've used Odenza twice. And I cant say that I was overly impressed.
The first instance, involved a '2 night free hotel stay', in which only a few hotels in a few citys on a few days were 'free'. We used this voucher in Ft Lauderdale at a Ramada, and had to pay Fees of approx. $75/night * 2 nights. I found the same hotel on the hotels website for $70/night. Though no fault of Odenzas, the hotel was a dump and I would have rather foudn my own hotel rather than pay $5 /night over the hotels posted rates.
The second instance was for a cruise. A free 2day/3 night I believe (my memory is a little fuzzy on this as it was over 2 years ago). These cruises were only avaiable during the winter months and as my Fiancee is a teacher, we were stuck using it in the summer. To make a long story short, the 'free cruise' ended up being a $50/person off cruise as our extra fees totalled those available through the Carnaval website minus $100 (we had to pay a $50 processing fee + $250 per person as misc fees) online the total would have been about $325 ea all in. It was our first cruise and we had a blast.
To sum up, if you have 0 restrictions on travel, IE you are retired, or can take time off when ever you want, I'm sure there is value to be had. If you are limited your experince may be less favourable, as it was in our case.
I hope this helps.
Mike
