I think that's what we've been saying even as early as his set of Lennox fights

Am I the only one who sees a Tyson-Holyfield match on the horizon? What a circus that would be.

Saw the Paquiauo vs Larios fight tonight. Pac wins a 12 round UD. It was close for the first few rounds but Pac took over after the 4th round.
Props to Larios for taking major punishment but never quitting. He was gracious in defeat.

I saw it too. Larios is a class act, no doubt, as is Manny for that matter.
Was it only my heart that skipped a beat when Pac got buzzed at the beginning of the 3rd?
In other news, heavyweights James Toney and Samuel Peter have signed to fight on September 2nd. What an interesting crossroads fight with two wildly contrasting styles. Both are coming off disappointing results, James drawing Rahman and Peter losing to VKlit (sure, he fought a pair of tuneup fights afterwards against journeymen, they don't REALLY count ...)
Thoughts on this one?
Also, IBF Jr. Middleweight champ Roman Karmazin will be defending his title this Saturday against Cory Spinks in Spink's hometown of St. Louis. Last time Spinks fought at home, it was a disastrous outing, being KO'd by Judah. Karmazin is coming off an impressive win against personal fave Kassim Ouma. Couple that with Spinks moving up a weight class (and heck, he had little pop at all at welterweight) and I'm wondering if he'll have the slickness and generalship to keep the Russian off him ...

Should be an interesting fight between Toney and Peter. I hope Toney comes into the ring in shape, he was so out-of-shape against Rahman.
Peter has power, but like you said he has fought two journeymen and what happens when he fights someone legit (if Toney is in shape?) ?
I think it will be exciting, at least I hope !

Another fight that's been mentioned is Chris Byrd vs. O'Neill Bell. Yep, Byrd, after his 7 round beatdown to W. Klit, is moving back down to cruiserweight, the weight he arguably belongs in in the first place. This should be a great fight; Bell looked fantastic in stopping undisputed champ J.M. Mormeck at the beginning of the year, and Byrd should gain some much needed pop in his punches by fighting at a lower weight division.
For whatever reason, I'm a big big fan of Chris's duck-and-slip style, and hope he takes out Supernova or cruises to a decision!

Joe Frazier is back into the ring at age 62 !!! For charity though....
ESPN article on Joe Frazier
So Cory Spinks won against Karmazin. I didn't watch the match but apparently Spinks had some trouble during a few of the later rounds ? He got rocked a few times ?
I am not a big fan of Chris Bryd that much. Hate his pawing style......

Anyone know what happened to the guy who called himself the Prince? Used to be a big showboater that had a real long intro and always flipped over the ropes into the ring.

"Sugar" Shane Mosley vs Fernando Vargas this Saturday July 15th on HBO PPV.
This should be a good fight. Any predictions ?
Can't remember was it Vargas' last fight against Mosley that he got hit (by what is debated) and his eye balloned to a monstrous size ? That was just sick to look at !

The fight will be close. I can see Vargas eking out a close decision, thus setting up a rubbermatch.
And yeah, that eye was pretty grotesque, haha. I wonder who had it worse, Rahman's grotesque knot vs. Holyfield, Taylor's drooping mouse vs. Winky, or Vargas's last fight?

yeah I think it will be close too. Last fight some analysts had Vargas ahead but it was stopped due to the grotesque bulging of his eye. Lets hope that Mosley has more pop in his punches for this upcoming fight.
Rahman was the worst I think. It was like a fricking balloon !!!

Just caught the Mosely/Vargas fight. Definitely, it was more of a landslide than the first encounter, and the left-hook knockdown was SO authoritative and powerful, even someone like Winky would likely have been knocked down by it.
Fernando just looks too old, too slow, too uncoordinated to properly fight elite fighters like Shane. Hopefully he calls it a day, lest he become one of those stepping-stone type fighters, which would truly be a shame to his legacy.
Oh, and they were talking heavily about a Shane/Mayweather fight in the post-fight interview, which would be quite interesting. If Floyd can beat a Mosley type of fighter, then I think he'll finally be worthy of all the accolades he's accrued over the years. Shane didn't sound terribly interested in this proposed fight, but if the dollars are there, I'm sure he'll step up to the plate.

yeah I saw the highlights, Mosley rocked Vargas badly with that left. From what I saw, Vargas was still wobbling trying to get up but managed to beat the count. But then it was all over as Vargas didn't even try to defend himself.
Sweet, Mosley is back on track. Like a rebirth......
Mosley had stated before the fight that he wanted to move down in weight class to welterweight and Vargas might be moving up a weight class. But after this devastating loss, Vargas might just call it quits.
Mayweather wants to fight Mosley but like you said Mosley doesn't seem interested. At least not until next year. And Mosley wants Mayweather to fight Antonio Margarito since Antonio is itching to get at him.
Mosley vs. Mayweather would definitely be a very entertaining fight and definitely a big payday for both fighters. Hopefully it is going to happen soon.

Oh, did anyone catch Saturday's undercard, featuring Juan Diaz and Daniel Ponce De Leon? I heard those were pretty good fights as well. Hopefully they're torrented somewhere.
And remember, this Saturday, it'll be Montreal's favourite son, Arturo Gatti, going for the unified welterweight championship vs. Carlos Baldomir! Hopefully Thunder can give us another great scrap, as this is definitely an opponent he can look good against.
Thoughts/predictions on this upcoming fight?
