I've read something about that on another forum. What they said is When they sell you a 80 gb, in fact it's a 80 000 000 bytes. But 80 000 000 bytes is in fact 76.29 gb. Same thing apply for the 250 gb, 250 000 000 bytes is 238.42 gb.
In the first case, you "loose" 4 gb and in the second you "loose" 12 gb. And that is before installing the OS. Kinda of a scam if you ask me, but what we can do, every manufacturers advertise their drive that way._______________
I feel the need... the need for speed.

The 250 GB HDs advertised are 250 billion bytes, which equates to 232 GB using the binary (1 GB = 1024^3 bytes) definition. For whatever reason hard drives use the decimal definition while RAM uses the binary one. Either way, this doesn't quite explain why he only has 205 GB left after installing the OS.

This i knew which is why i mentioned it is 205/232. and i only lose 27 and not 45 gigs. i have other 250 gig drives and they all show up as 232, i have no problems with that, ive known about the difference between what the drive manufacturers say and what it actually is for several years now.

Uguu~~~
So it turns out there is going to be a disc version for Siren: Blood Curse in english, but it is not seeing North American shores. No idea if you guys still want to do the gameshare (since you could import the European release when it comes out this autumn). I don't want to wait.

Uncharted Drake's Fortune got trophies today in NA, instead of just EU when I initially posted.
its basically the same medals received during the game. You will have to replay the game though.
Guess I will finally have to pick this one up as I'm told I shouldn't miss this one._______________

Siren: Blood Curse Coming To Blu-ray
A 60 GB PlayStation 3 seems like a massive beast, until you download the entire Siren: Blood Curse saga, which devours a good 66% of your hard drive, and what about those poor 20 GB PS3 owners? For those of you not wanting to turn your console into a dedicated Siren machine, Sony has plans to release all 12 episodes on a single Blu-ray disc this fall, with extra bells and whistles to make the full release attractive even to those who've already played through the survival horror title. Nothing on pricing as of yet, but I could certainly see it following PSN pricing for the full game at $39.99.

I'm a lot happier with paying 8 bucks and worrying about HDD space then paying 40 bucks for a BD disc. I barely use any of the 40 GB I have as it is.

OK, I'm going to try this again. Last time did not go over well and I've deleted all my PMs so I forget who was the fifth last time.
I'm looking for a fifth for a gameshare group. We're buying the following next week:
-Siren full game ($40)
-Bionic Commando (assuming $10)
-Pixel Junk Eden ($10)
-1942 Joint Strike ($10)
-Super Stardust Team Expansion (expansion only, no full game) ($5)
Cost will be about 15-20 bucks per person depending on taxes and fees
Rules:
-You must be in for all titles purchased. NO single title purchases. No exceptions to this rule whatsoever.
-You are responsible to purchase Super Stardust HD on your own. Sorry but all 5 activiations are gone so you can't get it from this group.
-You must have good refs or post count.
-Payment must be via EMT or Paypal up front. You are responsible for all fees
-Just one person is needed, thanks.
PM me if interested please.
