The bindings is pretty decent...I doubt newbies will notice the difference...Personally though, i'm returning these bindings...the release on thses bindings is crap...my old firefly's had better release.
hey, nice board
i've got a 149 k2 satellite from last year... just curious, where and how much did you get it for?

I didn't put one on my snowboard and found it no problem getting off of the lifts.
I haven't ridden down a hill without strapping in though...
Besides, it ruins the board's graphics (unless you get a clear one)

I just about made my mind up about getting the X3's but with your guys reviews I'm not too sold on them anymore.
Anyone have any better luck with the X2's?
The bad release would really piss me off.

A good shop will have a person that goes to all the demo days and tries all the equipment so they at least have an opinion on each product they are selling. If you cannot find a person like that in the shop, then go elsewhere. Specialty shops will not be much more expensive than the chain stores. They also do not have a piece of plywood with a nice plastic sheet over it.
I'm very interested in the "demo days"...can you explain how it works, which shops allow it and when they allow it.
Thanks

The ride quality on the X3 is very good, you should goto the shop and test if out for yourself, I probably picked up the "crap" version release.

Yeah that's the only problem.
Here, they're not selling them, not surprising considering our small town. But some similar model of Sims LINK Seduction are on sale for $130 but I don't know if they're any good or have any problems strapping in and out.
I can get the X3 or X2's for $99 with free shipping but am still considering it.

Demo days aren't usually held by shops. They would be held at ski hills. You would have to contact your local ski hill for when demo days occur.
I have never been to a demo day, but I imagine it would be a tent setup outside that lets you try out stuff for free. Probably need to put down a deposit just in case you run away with it or break it.
Other methods of trying out boards would be:
-rent from a board shop
-rent high end from a ski hill (if they have that option)
-beg a friend

I've decided to get the X3's. For Sims' sizing, is it the same as everyone elses? ie. Size large would fit a size 9 boot?
Burton's is a little different, apparently their medium is 8-10 and their large is 10+.
Thanks.

Yes, my burton mission bindings are medium and they fit 8-10.
It is quite hard to get sizing info on Sims website. I guess you could just call.

Just to join in with my January purchases.
I just blew a load of cash on new gear.. so I might as well share to get it out of my system.
background I started snowboarding nearly 5 years ago, did it as a weekend warrior for about 2 seasons, then stopped (work, school, moving around, etc) for about 3 years. Recently I just returned from a trip at Tremblant last month (year? :P ) and fell in love all over again. I was always rental in the past.
So I picked up.
Sims Nexus (158 ) $229 now @ boardzone
Flow MK3 bindings $179 (w/ purchase of the board) @ boardzone
32 Exus boots $159 @ sign of the skiier.
Hoping to test it this weekend, my first time riding Flow bindings.
