Due to the recent Oaken/EQ liquidity news, I thought I would add another HISA account as a CDIC contingency.

Alterna Bank looks to be the next best one listed as 1.95% here, however their website says 1.90% for both the non-registered HISA and the TFSA account...

OP needs some updating.
What is the recent Oaken/EQ liquidity news?

I agree the OP needs updates.
Alterna is down to 1.90% today for both savings and TFSA.

Oaken/HT raised from 1.5 to 1.75% in the last couple of weeks and I'm sure there are others since January
*Do you like someone's idea, post, or response? Why not consider giving them "thanks" and clicking the thumbs up to give them the credit they deserve. This will help eliminate the need to quote their whole post to say "thanks" or "+1' which just clutters up the whole thread*

Which is best bank account that offers highest interest rate on the esavings account?
I believe Tangerine offers 2.5%
Has anyone used this?
Any other suggestions?

That is a promotional rate for a very short period of time.

There is a massive thread here that will compare all the rates

Tangerine actually offers 0.80%. 2.5% is a promotion rate. If it's just normal rates, EQ is the highest at 2.0%. Check the OP for more info~
