For all you who prefer the bigger Mega Rolls , don't forget to request your free Charmin Toilet Paper Extender.
Original RFD Thread was moved into expired freebies section, but original thread has no indication of this being expired. YMMV perhaps ?

I guess this would be considered crapping on the thread, but take a read of this article i stumbled upon.
"The tenderness of the delicate American buttock is causing more environmental devastation than the country's love of gas-guzzling cars, fast food or McMansions, according to green campaigners. At fault, they say, is the US public's insistence on extra-soft, quilted and multi-ply products when they use the bathroom."
The Guardian, UK
Funny thing, I found this thread on RFD soon after reading this article.Last edited by tskrb; Mar 2nd, 2009 at 04:52 PM.

This thread makes me laugh at how people will do anything to save a penny, because that's about all you'll save on toilet paper.
rofl at you penny-pinchers.
How many of you wipe only once to save a nickle?
j/k

I think we should add Facial Tissue (Kleenex) to this thread too. Similar challenges to the TP
. How many tissues per box, ply, brand quality etc.
My personal fav is Life Brand at Shoppers which goes on sale for $0.59/box regularly (0.49 if you are lucky); specs are 132 sheets/box @ 2 ply, quality is mid-range.
Anyone got any secret non-sale price sources for this stuff? And yes yes.....I know I could just use TP if I was REALLY cheap :P.

Just an FYI - don't buy the Green one and use it to wipe lipstick off... stuff tastes NASTY!!!
Also, what is with the mid range TP's that don't line up the 2 ply's - nothing worse than having an tiered TP because they're tearing @ different spots... Charmin & Majesta are notorious for this!
OK maybe there is something worse... but it's damn annoying!_______________

Reading this thread reminds me of my backpacking days in Central Africa, Eastern Europe, and especially Asia. Never shake hands or touch the left hand of the locals, and only eat food with the right hand if there were no cutlery. I recall paying two bucks a roll, and I would leave my leftover rolls of TP with the locals and they were so bewildered but we all got a good laugh about it. It started more laughs, rather than leaving little candies or the little Canada flag pins.
I never bothered about the cost of TP ever again. But, any little bit of savings help, and they add up to a few bucks with each package, so thank you OP for starting this thread (and bringing back some fond memories!)
