Where I am living, it looks freaky though. Imagine this being the scene when you step out your front door:
I leave my house and I am in the yellow tape no-walk part of Jones av! yellow caution tape goes all around my home so I am supposed to bypass a ton of debris and the yellow tape just to leave home! that's what I have to deal with here.

Home sweet home!!!
My view is of a huge empty parking lot so I haven't seen first hand how bad the conditions are. I guess we have been sheltered. I only know of how bad it is by the news and the photos here.

The only good thing about the storm is the beautiful ice coating on tree branches, plants, basketball nets and other outdoor stuff. It ends there though with TTC delays I and others are facing.

Roads aren't icy at all sidewalks are very hazardous and lots of potential for falling trees. Utility company here recommends DO NOT clean up tree debris that could cause another branch to break. Mall is closed I have power but down the street from me on each side has no power. Stay indoors if you can folks.

Neighbors Tree:

Frozen Lock:

Lots of ice accumulation on hedge:

Branches sagging blocking my driveway, I smashed off the ice with a baseball bat before it freezes tonight and did some minor pruning:

Down the street, trunk is damaged:

Very dangerous driving conditions especially if there is no power!

Anyone going into work tmrrw? Seeing as how the GO trains are severely delayed, looks like I'll be staying home.

Ok so you really didn't get to see the storm. I guess you are lucky although it was fun to see.

I made it this far with no power outage so I am feeling quite fine now.

But Hey! it's snowing in my browser! Why is it that when I Google nightmare before christmas I get a google with snow falling on it? I don't know if some google search results can often have these kinds of effects. First google tampered with my weather data making it snow on my radar images, now Google search results have snow in them!

I only have to use the subway. it is all underground so I don't think there should be delays. But then again, I hear there are power outages all over the system :(

Will work from home tomorrow, hopefully there will still be power.
I'm sure there will . If you have gotten this far without even a single black out, you should be fine.

Although something seems kinda peculiar to me!!
Jones av has been notorious for downed trees and a "disaster zone" kind of looks throughout the section between Gerrard and Danforth. But for some reason, it is one of the luck parts of Toronto that has zero power outage! I got the best of both worlds. Seeing first hand what collapsing trees and arborial destruction looks like, all while my power is spared. But maye I ended up being lucky because that live line strung over the street prompting officials to come here first and fix it because it was live.

Had our power line just broke, we would be stuck like the rest of these people with no power till they get to us some hours later. What luck!

Power was still out at my house in Agincourt since last night. We packed up and got us a room at the Delta hotel off Kennedy. At least it's warm here and got to go swimming. Hope our power comes back soon, I don't want to spend Christmas here.

They said they can't assure full restoration of the region in time for Christmas. So this could be a few days till this is all over and done with. And again I shall warn, tomorrow night and the night after that will be frigid. So no power .... well I don't know what to say about that.
