Went back to The Wren tonight and had this awesome special. Kalbi short ribs and kimchi fries.
Wow, never knew a place like this existed. I'm going have to try this out!

Bump with a little something from last night. Arancini, Jerk Wings and Shrimp Tacos from Nomads on Danforth. Good place, would go back again.

It's July, so that means sockeye salmon is back.
It's been advertised for about a week and some stores have had for about two weeks.
We went to Superstore today and grabbed four packages of sockeye fillets marked down 30%. Original price was $24.99/kg.

So tonight we had sockeye cooked on the bbq on a cedar board. Put the board right on the bbq plates until it starts to crackle, then move it up to the rack.
Added to the bbq zucchini and patty pan squash from our garden along with some very sweet corn on the cob.
Finished it off with a decaf and a bit of Kaluha.

Man, this was one of our best dinners in a long time.
Sockeye salmon is a seafood that is hard to top.
Hopefully it should be in the east by now.

Here's something to try next time you do cedar plank salmon again....smoked eggs => smoked egg salad . I got the idea from Steve Raichlen
