However, the Federal Government is now considering overturning the unanimous
decision of the CRTC, and sending it back for yet another hearing.

The CRTC spent two years developing their decision, and now the Government wants
to review this process based on misinformation spread by conventional
broadcasters who don't want our competition.

WINNIPEG (CP) - The federal government is ready to ask the CRTC to rescind its decision to licence satellite radio, government sources have told The Canadian Press.

"Everything suggests that the cabinet will ask the CRTC to overturn its decision," an official close to the file said in an interview on Friday.

Why not just import the receiver from the US?
Even if CRTC ruling withstands, it's probably cheaper to subscribe to the US service because of the strong Canadian Dollar (and no tax if you register your address in nyc ). And you get ALL channels from US services.

i have the skybox and i'm thinking about getting the MyFi. It's more affordable now

By the way guys, if you have any doubt about paying for "radio" services, you can sign up for their online free 3day trial. Oh, i just heard a brief news recap for Aug 31st, 1939 on The 40s music channel. The news is about Great Britain evacuating children & pregnant women because WWII just broke out and Germany invaded Poland. Ha, it's simply awesome...

When I can see South, I can get my XM. That's pretty much the rule. If there are any trees, buildings whin 50m I will also loose my signal when facing South. Not bad when there are no repeaters. In the car its perfect. Unless you go under an overpass. Then I get a 1secound drop out. Other than that, its great. Way better than Sirius. But because I have to be fair to everyone, I used Sirius's HQ in NY and my XM address
