****!! It's 5:20AM and i can't sleep. THE HEAT IS KILLING ME PLUS THE HUMIDITY.
SOMEONE HELP ME!! 2 midterms and a lab due this week!! I'm gonna run out and buy a portable A/C. AGH!! NO CHOICE!!!!!!!!!
Edit:
IF someone can help me answere these 2 questions:
1) For portable A/C, do i have to put the duct outside? Can i put it somewhere like, down the stairs? (This is a rez sorta place)
2) How does the freon work? If i buy a used portable A/C (i'm guessing its in good shape and only a yr or 2 old) what should i check for? It says its a heater, dehumidifier, a/c, fan. How long does the "freon" last?
Thanks for the help

yeah its worth it if your looking to use it in a bedroom.. not to cool down an entire house or aprtment but it'll cool down a room in no time.

I'm only up cause im at work

Don't forget that the portable ones still need to be vented to the outside - they have a 6" diameter flexible tube and a vent that has to be fitted in the window - if you have sealed windows or such, you may still incur this fee...LOG IN TO THANK No one has yet thanked biosh for this post.

Yea i was thinking about that hose. Does it have to go to the window? I can't just put it downstairs? There's 2 hoses right?
Also how do i calculate the ENERGY EFFICIENT RATING?
The manual says:
Power Consumption:
Cooling 1050 Watts (9.0 Amps)
Heating 1380 Watts (High) 12 Amps
830 Watts (Low) 7.2 Amps
Dehumidifying 1050 W (9.0 Amps)
Fan 90 W (0.8 Amps)
How do i find out the kWh for year?
WHen i look at the EE rating on Danby's website it doesn't give the energy rating lol. I'm worried if i bring it home, its no use because it drains like mad.
