"Drive a Mid-size car for only $1/day when you pick up and drop off at one of the locations listed below between October 2 and October 31, 2009. 24 hour advanced reservations are required.

Vehicles must be returned to one of the participating drop locations or renters will be charged $65.00 per day for each rental day, plus appropriate drop fee if applicable. Sounds pretty good! Did the drive myself this summer (roundtrip) and the coast is pretty nice (though it's not a Hwy 1). Sounds like they had more than a few people do the one-way drive to Halifax this summer.

This is the perfect deal for me. I was planning to go from Halifax to Montreal on the 30th. Saves us renting a car there and 2 plane tickets.

All I need now is to find a one-way deal from Montreal to Halifax for AVIS.
Or a seat in the cargo compartment of AirCanada for $1.

just got off the phone with a customer care representative and he said they only have it in the US going from a few cities near boston to florida and around houston to some other place I didn't get. would have been a really nice deal.

Well, they don't have to pay their employees to do the driving, don't have to pay for the gas, plus they get paid $1 per car.... that's a steal for them!
