I just went for a BNIB 128gb Pixel XL 1st gen for $735 tax and shipped off ebay. This is a good deal, but I really wanted the pixel camera and screen Face With Tears Of Joy

You can buy a lightly used Samsung S8 for 600 and a new one for $700 so just wait a month or two and these will be available on Kijiji for 400-500

No, both sims are active all the time. You seamlessly can use either.
SIM slots can both be active, but the phone is a dual standby phone, not dual active phone.

At least here in Calgary, OnePlus phones don't seem to appear often on Kijiji. When they do, people are still asking for close to retail price (especially with the 5 since it's no longer available).

Heck, if I could still get $600 for my 64GB OnePlus 5, I'd consider upgrading - maybe I'll toss it on Kijiji closer to the 21st

Is the lack of LTE band 13 a problem for Canadian users?
If you're on Freedom:
You'll miss out on much improved indoor/basement/elevator coverage when Freedom rolls out band 13 (700MHz) LTE this year/early next year. You'll still get access to Bands 66/7/4 which is plenty, but you'll miss out on better coverage.

If not:
For other carriers...it depends. Rogers/Fido/Zoomer uses Band 12 (700). Telus/Bell do own Band 13 spectrum as well, but it is not widely deployed. Videotron uses both Band 12 (via Rogers sharing) and 13.
A wise RFD'er once said, "Buy now, think later."

How is this a ‘Hot Deal’?

Ron.
Probably the same type of people who downvotes everyone who say how a Blackberry at MSRP is not a hot deal.

Between SOL and thoughts and prayers . With the smaller guys, it's buyer beware . Low pricing for higher specs means they have to cut somewhere... that usually means service and QA

Mixed bag. In the early days it was downright terrible. From what I've read on OP-related forums, it's gotten better. But as I understand it, you have to ship the unit back to the US so there's hassles with shipping/customs. It's most certainly not as smooth as taking an iPhone to an Apple store. That's also one reason why the 5T costs half as much as an iPhone.
