They told me that during the interview, so I just take their words for it! Since there are 8 focus areas, I guess they are hiring around 60 people in the whole Ontario...tintedstar wrote: ↑How do you know they're hiring 7 for IT?

Hope it turns into an offer!royalcrown222 wrote: ↑I just got my references checked today for BFP....didnt know they were still doing that.....I wrote this opportunity off a few weeks ago...it seems everytime I let this go they drag me back into the game. So here I am again waiting to see if I am gonna get an offer or if im just a backup in this constant game of emotional chess...hahaha

LOL....yeah, I'm with you on that one. Getting an offer was only the first step in reducing the anxiety, but now I want to know where I will be and what I will be doing. It's hard when people ask about the internship and I'm just like "Well actually, I don't know my exact placement/job is yet, but I will soon". And I mean, other than the notes I scribbled down from the phone call, I have nothing to even show that I got an offer! I guess they still want to leave us hanging for a bit!bibliophile wrote: ↑Hi all,
I'm a first-time poster. Received my offer for the communications stream about two weeks ago now, I guess. Since I've been using this board as a resource throughout the process, I figured I'd register, introduce myself, and ask... am I the only one dying of curiosity to know what their assignment is? (I guess I'm just really eager to get the contract in my hot little hands so I can consider my job search officially over.)

SO so so curious! Also, I hope I'm somewhere downtown Toronto, preferably somewhere near convenient TTC routes. And, what Kuzer said - I also have the same problem, saying, essentially "I don't know where I will be and what exactly I will be doing." Rather ambiguous. However, am not complaining, I just want it to feel official! Did they say contracts will be sent mid-May, or end of May??bibliophile wrote: ↑Hi all,

That's a good question -- I, too, want it to be official. I was under the impression that a contract would come in mid-May, along with notification of our assignments, but I could be completely wrong. (I think I was so totally focused on the good news -- and on getting down the right e-mail address to send my resume -- that I didn't listen to much else.)moomoo123 wrote: ↑SO so so curious! lol....I have these visions too. My bf tells me to stop being so paranoid and just be thankful I got the stupid job! (he's just bitter...he didn't make it through round 1 last year :P)moomoo123 wrote: ↑Yeah, I sometimes envision a scenario whereby my placement ends up being Middofnowhere, or else SomewherereallynotToronto... which would be highly unfortunate. However, I console myself with the thought that most OIP ministries are based in Toronto, so the probability of getting my first choice is pretty good. But still. The scenario persists in lurking.

LOL... I had the exact same fear this morning when I started to think of the second choice I was forced to make at my interview. As I drove past the Weston GO Station, I thought, "Oh no! What if they DO send me to Guelph! My life is officially over!!!"kuzer wrote: ↑lol....I have these visions too. My bf tells me to stop being so paranoid and just be thankful I got the stupid job! I'm sure we'll get decent locations. It has to be on the TTC....what isn't? And even if it's not ideal, its only for 1 year...and trust me, if I can put in a year at the crapshack I just left, we can put in year at a good opportunity that's a wee bit inconvenient.
