Just some friendly advice for anyone planning to apply for this program:
Make sure you READ and ANSWER all the questions without the bs. (ie. name 3 skills means you identify it, relate it to your experiences, then show examples... a 2 sentence answer will get you a mark of 0) One of my coworkers let me read some of the applications submitted and some of them seem like people literally just pulled crap outta their ass and threw it on the application.. then they send an email asking why they weren't selected to move on. lol?
Anyways, good luck to those applying. It's a good program to get in to and pay is pretty decent (40k range). There are about 8k submissions each year and only a handful get selected. (mind you, more than half of the submissions are crap so the competition isn't that bad) Everything's pretty equal in terms of the selection process; someone with a masters degree versus someone with a diploma both have the same chances of getting in.. it's just that the dude with the master degree is better at following instructions so his answers are usually written in full sentences & at a much higher quality. Then again, I've seen past phD applications that were crap b/c the guy submitting it was so full of himself- he wrote like he **** (like, from the bum) out gold bricks.. just make sure you back up your facts with examples, otherwise it's considered bs.
Also, try not to submit it on the last 2 days. There's always a sudden spike of applications for some unknown reason... you slackers
