I applied but I am not holding my breathe for this. I have never worked for the government but I am will to give it my best shot and see if it would be a good fit for me.
I will update if I get to the next step.

They didn't call me for my written exam when I went through the process last year. I got an email or something maybe 2-3 weeks after the deadline.

I have no idea when they will be calling/emailing.
I applied to Business and Financial Planning.
I am trying not to be too attached to getting a position. 28 out of 367 applicants were accepted into my focus area last year. 64% of interns hired last year had an undergrad degree (the others held graduate degrees)source. Therefore my rough estimate of my chances of landing this is:
28/367 * 64% = 4.9%

I think getting in is determined by your writing style in answering those 3-4 questions during the application process, as well a combination of ur past experience and education. If you have related experience and education to the field you are applying for, then I think it would be fine.

I don't know if it is the writing style, or maybe a keyword search done by computers. They would need a lot of people to read approx 3000 applications cover to cover in one week. I would suspect that they have a system that checks the spelling/grammar, and looks for keywords. The applications that make it through the first filter are read by an actual person and the ones that make it through the flesh and blood get called in for testing. That's my basic theory anyways. I am thinking too much about this!!

I applied to Project Management last year and didn't get in (probably because I wrote the whole resume in 20min before deadline), so I applied to Business this year. I hope I get to do the test, seems like an amazing opportunity.
i hope its not done by keywords. I hate using keywords in my applications. I like to focus and explain rather than just insert a few of obvious keywords.

You must have just burned through the application if you only had 20 minutes!
I did the same thing, I applied night before closing I had more then 20 minutes, but I would have liked to have come back to my responses in a week to see them with fresh eyes. I doubt I'll get called in as I did not have the time advantage a lot of the other applicants must have had.

yep I regret doing that, because I did not even fill up the word limits. I only had a few sentences for each box. Well no worries, I am sure lots of people did the same thing this time as well. I am sure we will be fine
(hopefully)
