Ontario traffic offence warning

I was pulled over and issued a traffic offence warning (not a ticket). A piece of white sheet which states the date, time, place of offence, all license information, the police name, what offence. It also has what looks like a record id which can be used later for tracing. After all, its an official document. Though the cop said there is no action required on my side (no fine/demerit points).

But my questions is:
How long does this stay on the police record?
What are the implication of this? Will it affect my auto insurance?

Anyone had the same experience, can shed some light on how this offence warning works, much appreciated.

OP is in Ontario as described in the title.

Don`t worry about it. What was the warning for?

The offense was for "Failure to stop at a STOP sign".

I'm in Toronto ON and the paper has the title "Provincial Offenses Warning",so I assume it's an Ontario wide thing.

According to the book, it's 3 demerit points for that. Consider yourself lucky and don't do it again :D

There's nothing to worry about. It won't affect anything, except next time you'll likely get a ticket instead of a warning

As far as I know, a warning is just a warning and has no effect on your insurance.

Are you sure it's just a "warning"?
That's the same effort and information as a citation.

It's a warning. Back in 2013, part of the whole carding debacle, now whenever Police stop a pedestrian or a motorist for anything, they will catalogue/record it for record keeping. So in the case of something related to the HTA, you will get a notice of record that a warning has been issued, and it will be in the system.
