Upon picking up my second half of osap the receptionist informed me that a decision will be rendered via email after my second installment has been process/deposited. So in order to get your rebate, for those who have applied for osap, you'll have to pick up your second half to find out if you qualify.

Definitely keep me posted. And also let me know how you managed it, if it works.
Thanks

The income condition part of the new grant asks you to add up your parent's gross income from line 150 of their T1 returns..probably from tax year 2010. if it is leass than 160 k you get the grant if it is $160,000.01 or more you don't
As for the RESP, you should still try to apply for OSAP, and take out your part from the RESP in equal amounts each year. It sounds that you don't really understand the RESP product. Even a maximized RESP probably is not enough to cover all costs for an undergrad degree.
You should spend the effort and read the RESP withdrawal rules. You might be loosing thousand of $'s if you make the withdrawals in the wrong way. There are also tax implications...

does anyone know whether when is the deadline to receive this rebate?
I still haven't received mine, but has not applied seperately since I have already applied for 2011 ~ 2012 OSAP, got less than $400 grant,
I was wondering if I was not qualified..... Thanks !

I got a quick question! I'm in highschool right now, and I will be graduating this year. Will I still receive the rebate? Also can I start applying for OSAP now? (I will be a full-time student in Uni next year)

From the best of my knowledge for the rebate you have to apply during the school year so you won't receive the rebate while you haven't started uni yet. And for OSAP usually you handle it during the summer or during the beginning month of the current school year.
Did anyone fax in their application for the rebate? I faxed mine a while ago but how do i know if they received it?

I did. I just called and ask. Not too long of a wait if you call around 9 in the morning.

I faxed it in at the beginning of January.. I thought I wouldn't qualify since I hadn't heard anything in a while. I just got the cheque in the mail yesterday (they mailed it march 19th).

Are you saying (potentially) that co-op students who earn an income while in university can't get the rebate? What if their income is STILL lower combined with their parents income (less than $160,000)?
