Opening my own clinic? Tips?
I'm interested in opening my own walk-in clinic (not right now...but maybe in the near future). How do I go about doing this? Do I need to be a doctor?
I plan on getting a Master of Health Administration (MHA) or a Master of Public Health (MPH). Which degree is better?

Yeah, you could rent some office space, equip it, import some doctors from South Africa (or convince a Canadian doctor to work for you).
Big issue would be obtaining the credibility and financing to convince a lender to fund your project, and to convince physicians to provide services in your clinic. Since you are not a MD yourself, it would be difficult to initially build a business using your own skills, and then bringing on additional staff as demand builds, as most MD-owned clinics do.
I don't think I've ever heard of a medical walk-in clinic in the private sector that wasn't owned/run by a MD or group of MD's. But if you were to build a business relating to a specialty area of health or clinical work, then you might be able to carve out a niche.
(for instance, "weight loss" clinics, owned by non-MDs, were fairly common in the 60s where MD's would be employed to prescribe weight loss drugs such as dextroamphetamine aka Dexedrine.)

I don't know if my advice helps, but my understanding of the Master of Public Health is that you would work in population medicine rather than clinical medicine.
So, probably the other degree may be more geared towards your interests?
There's a description of the MPH program here: http://www.ovc.uoguelph.ca/mph/
Don't know if its the same in other schools.

You seem to be very naive if you are asking this question here and you will likely not end up opening up anything.
It is very important to do intense research before doing anything. Asking people on RFD is not intense research. Your research skills may be very limited since you decided not to look through legislation and information from various associations.

OP, you've been asking a lot of random and broad questions about getting into health care professionals in varies threads but you seem to lack real direction; or even appropriate qualification to apply to any program.
you really should consider re-taking some pre-program first. and the admission for this coming year already pasted, so you'll have another year to think about it

Is your GPA high enough for these Master programs? Student forum has "Graduate School Acceptance" thread. Some people got rejected for MHA or MPH and you should ask them for their GPA.
Why not do a Bachelor in nursing? I think that nursing is offered in college too? Or dental hygienist program in college- if you don't mind doing that job. Apparently- it pays well.
Or go apply to banks, companies and tv stations.

Sorry, I actually never post these types of comments. I am also usually the person who hates buttholes (can't say a-holes, or i will get infranction) . I admit, I wasn't in a good mood, and lately i've been having communication issues with very clueless people who just dont know anything. So maybe that issue spilled over to here.
