Opinions on TD Meloche Monnex auto insurance service
I recently bought a new car and have been looking at different insurance plans (picking the car up later on).
The best rate, by far, is what I am quoted through TD Meloche Monnex, a group rate since I am a graduate of an Ontario University.
I was just wondering if anyone who has this insurance could share their satisfaction or dissatisfaction with the service - especially those who have had to go through any claims with them.
Thanks in advance!

Been with them for years. Nothing but good things to say. My wife was hit by an uninsured driver about 2 years ago, wrote off our car (she wasn't hurt.. just a really good bump. Vibe sucked it up really well and had frame damage). Had a rental that evening within an hour or so, cheque with a fair value for the write off later that week. Rates didn't go up because it wasn't our fault. Definitely a good experience for a bad situation.

Well I have been with them for the last 3 years..and I must say they have a very efficient customer service dept. I had few minor claims with them and they were cleared of immediately. Rates are excellent..

Been with them for 4 years and nothing but good things to say about them. When our van was dinged in a parking lot we had no trouble at all. They even extended our rental van when the body shop took too long with the repair.

I don't understand how your rates could go up for "no reason". Did you call them and ask them why your rates increased?

I've had both Home and Auto insurance with them for years. Rates are decent. I can't comment on any claims since I've been lucky so far.
Check out their Grand Touring option with their auto insurance. I think it's worthwhile, others may not. I think it's only $25 extra/yr

They always do that. They just say the price goes up. I get quote from various car insurance company every year. If there is significant saving, I would switch. Monnex is seldom top of my list even though I already have home insurance with them. i.e. even without combining with home insurance, others could beat Monnex with home insurance combo pricing. Moonex did beat others last year but RBC beat them this year. I am with RBC now.

Been with them for almost 4 years now, couldn't be happier. I haven't filed a claim yet (knock on wood!) so I can't comment on that process...
My rates have gone down every year I'm with them, and they already started off with fantastic rates to begin with! Just got my renewal in the mail last night, rates went down another $200/yr! Now sitting at $2000 for both of us for the year, 2 cars...

I'm with them for home and auto insurance also (about four years now). So far they have been great, though admittedly I haven't needed to file any claims.

I have been with them for 5 years (with Cooperators for the 8 years before that). Never made a claim so I can't say much about the claim department based on personal experience. My premium has been mostly steady but it got jacked up slightly 2 years in a row. Stupid insurance industry in Ontario. My rate is just over $70/month for full coverage on a minivan
My friend got into an accident that was initially deemed her fault but got reversed in court based on witness count. TD took care of things swiftly with rental, repair; and no premium increase for her.

Heh, I was just slagging TD bank in another thread and here I go.
I've been with Meloche Monex for 3 years now, great customer service and way cheaper than the competition. I shop around every 6-12 months to check and TD Meloche Monex is still cheaper by a large margin than their competitors. I haven't had an accident, so can't say how that end goes, but so far I've been very happy with them.

I guess Monnex is good for younger driver. In the past 10 years, most insurance company just tried to get me in for a good price the first year and always raised the price a bit next year. Not necessary big but they always increase and never decrease. I usually can find another insurance which can give me better price the following year although the margin may not big enough for me to go through the trouble to switch. Monnex usually is in the lower half of the list in the past 10 years.
I have no claim, no ticket, no accident for N years. RBC (my current auto insurance company) said I am a 7 stars driver (although I thought there are only 5 stars

I am planning to purchase a policy from Monnex but they will give me cheaper rate if I am going to university. But currently i am not going to university. I plan on going. So do u think they will call University to verify that i am currently going to or not?

Yes, they will verify it through their computer system, they did it for me while I was on the phone with them.
