I was going westbound on the 401 near milton yesturday. I was doing 120km/h on the left lane suddenly I see the flashers go on a unmarked OPP cruiser, so I slowed down and proceeded to the right thinking I get pulled over, then suddenly he turned off the flashers so I am like ah well continued on while monitering my rear view mirror. I then got off at James Snow Pwky and he seems to follow me off the ramp, then I made a right and he made a left and that was it. Do the OPP normally do this to scare people?
has anyone experienced this?

You can always bring a video camera with you, if the police does something unacceptable you can take the film to CBC news, they'll doom the police for sure.

He was probably on a emergency call for something else and came up behind you fast without lights. He hit his flashers to move you out of the way, but then the call got canceled. He went up the ramp to turn around to head back on the 401 east.

Or maybe he just hit the switch for his lighting system by accident? I've done the same thing myself on occasion. I'm also sure many here have been driving down the highway when they suddenly realized that their turn signal has been flashing since they made a lane change five minutes before. OP, relax, whatever the reason was it was nothing so don't worry about it, you'll live longer.

I don't think there is a definitive answer to your question as to whether or not they DO pull people over for doing 120 or not.
My sense, and I think most others will agree, is that if they need a reason to pull you over for another issue - such as they think you are drunk - they will use 120 as part of the leverage to get you to pull over.
Think about it, how many people go 120? Nearly everyone in the left lane goes 110-120. If the police were to pull them all over, they would be using a lot of resources. Plus, the amount of money they much on a 120 vs a 130, 135 or 150 km ticket is FAR more.
So if anything, I think they are saving it for people at 130 - maybe even 135 - or above.

Sometimes they use lights to warn drivers to pay attention on them.
Few weeks ago when I was on my way home from work, I saw a police cruiser parked on the right lane of a southbound 3-lane avenue and had its light on, I immediately slowed down and wondering why the hell is he parking on the right lane instead of the shoulder; right after passing him did I see from my rear view mirror something stunning: he quickly spun 90 degrees and turned eastbound, then accelerated and drove through the median curb, merged into northbound traffic and vanished. His light was turned off right after crushing through the curb.

In my opinion, nothing much happened here. I wouldn't lose any sleep over this.
There are so many reasons why he that, it may be related to you or may not even be related to you. As mentioned already, he may have wanted to slow you down to have a closer look. Or he may have been on his way to some other place and got called off after.
But its nothing so I wouldn't be offended. Anything more than, "hmm that was interesting" is unnecessary really.

He was warning you to either get over, or slow down. You weren't doing 120, you were going faster.
