Options for summertime

My little girl is just about to finish up her first year of school. Prior to JK, she was in daycare including the summer months.

Just curious what options parents tend to choose for having their kids cared for during the summer months?

Summer camps. Many opened for registration in February...

Summer Camps is our go to. The community centres often have affordable options.

I thought most of the community centre programs start around 9am and finish at 3pm?
What do families do if the parents work 8-4? or 9-5?

Ours are generally 9-4. You can purchase before hours or after hours care.
After I pick up the kid from camp and make it home, I work from home for an extra hour

Summer camps.
They run from 9-4 but offer 30mins-1hr care before and after, depending on the camps and with an additional fee for some.

One parent leave for work earlier and the other later? Most people get to work from home knowdays anyways.

I wish I could work from home. There is no such thing in my line of work.

I would be surprised if more than 5% have this option to work from home.

In my city many of the post-secondaries offer great (but expensive) summer camps. At your child's age not a big deal but the sport ones are very popular since they are led by the athletes from the school.
