Orlando or San Diego?
If you had to choose to goto Orlando or San Diego, which would you choose? Which city has more sights and things to do? I'll be there for a course and would like to catch some sites while I'm there.

I just came back from San Diego and it was awesome - I really enjoyed my visit there and spent some time on the beach in Del Mar - which was gorgeous. I swear living by the beach has to be the best thing ever.
If you are trying to head to the beach check out these cool Flickr photos from Royal Holiday- they make me want to find a nice island somewhere and hide away as well -

May I ask where about in San Diego did you stay? I'm planning on going there for a few days in mid-August.

By yourself? I'd definitely go San Diego.
Zoo, Balboa Park, Gaslamp Quarter, Beaches, Shopping, Mexico, Golf...it's got it all....
One of the best places to visit and live for that matter.
Prolly one of the nicest city on the west coast.

It would depend on where you live and when you plan to travel. In July or August, Orlando is hot and muggy and the primary attraction is Walt Disney World.
In July or August, the weather in San Diego would be much more pleasant relative to Orlando. There is more variation for stuff to do if your primary goal is to not visit theme parks. SD has a lot of beaches and Old SD is a cool place to walk, dine and shop.

Well, I stayed with my brother who lives in La Jolla - but I would recommend staying in downtown San Diego near the Gaslight district - really cool, funky area. Close to the ocean and great food/bar options....

Thanks for the info. Was thinking of either staying near Gaslamp quarter or at Mission Bay.

Depends on what you want to do.
In Orlando you're pretty much limited to the Disney or Universal theme parks.
If that's not your thing, then San Diego would be better.

Thanks everyone!
I will be going by myself as my employer is paying for everything except a second ticket. Going from all of the responses, I'll be booking to go to San Diego!

Good choice!
I visited and stayed with relatives in Chula Vista last summer. It's a beautiful place with beautiful weather and a variety of things to do. But I especially love the weather.
It's my new mission to live there, once I finish up my nursing degree.

Another vote for San Diego.
Pandas at the zoo, La Jolla cove, and if you like shopping, theres a big outlet mall close to the mexico border.

Yeah it's a pretty decision. Unless you like theme parks, go to SD.
While I enjoyed the parks in Orlando, there's really nothing else there. I guess there are beaches and the space center within a couple hours drive, but that's about it.

That would be the Las Americas Prime Outlet.
Great place to shop. Outdoor mall, just like about every mall in Cali.
