OSAP Tv Ad (Ontario Student Assistance Program)

LIGHT HEARTED FEEL GOOD TOPIC

This ad has been running quite a lot lately (long & short versions) as no doubt another year of Grade 12 Students Gear up to submit their College & Uni Applications

I don’t want to get into a whole discussion of the Pros & Cons of OSAP

Just want to say this ad brings a smile to my face every time it runs... it sure takes me back to what it’s like to raise kids through their school years

I’ve provided the link to the longer version (60 Seconds) vs the 30 Second one... so as to make this post also available to anyone who doesn’t live in Ontario and therefore might not have seen it

Why is this necessary? What monopolistic government agency are they going to waste money advertising next? The fire department?

First the LCBO advertises, then metrolinx, now OSAP. If this is the best use of tax dollars they can think of I should just switch and vote conservative from now on.

Could HAVE, not could OF. What does 'could of' even mean?

I like watching these ads, they're well-shot and produced. That being said, I don't really know if it's an effective use of public funds.

So much for the LIGHT HEARTENED INTENT
(Clearly people don’t read OPs they just post based on titles)

You guys are Debbie / Donnie Downers ... Negative Nelly & Nes

I saw this as an opportunity to just talk about the challenges of raising kids thru their school years

The ups the downs, the laughter & tears

But whatever, we are back to the craziness of politics

Doesn’t anyone on this OT FORUM ever take a break from politics and the *crap* side of life anymore ?

@tk1000 moved to Student... Isn't that more appropriate for OSAP?

This ad is targeting parents, so could have gone in the for 'parenting' forum.

VO: You worked hard to get your child into university or college.
VO: Now, with the new OSAP, there’s more help than ever to pay for it.

It would be if we were discussing the actual LOANS part of OSAP

But the intent (at least mine) was to discuss an interesting tv ad / Parenting school age kids

Like I said I orinally posted in OFF TOPIC cause the intent was light hearted... something I think could not hurt the OT FORUM

It’s a topic off the norm from the regular stuff found on RFD (deals, Money, politics etc)

No heavy chit chat on politics / Student Loans / the Education System etc

Just...

Hey I saw this cool ad on tv that made me chuckle as a parent

Sheesh... does it really have to be so difficult ?
IMO too many uptight people on RFD

OSAP, aka, Ontario Stereo Acquiriral [sic] Program.

Government waste. Education should be cheaper, or better yet, free.
