Mackage never really stood out to me as a baller brand, probably because most of their jackets are too shiny and the fur doesn't look nice.
Anyone have experience with Moncler jackets? They look waaaay overpriced but they seem to be popular since there are so many fakes out there.

Felt them when I was in Europe last year. Seems nice. Like the wool version. Nice clean jackets. Would not buy unless its from a store just b/c there are so many fakes out there.

Moncler is quality craftsmanship like CG but INSANELY overpriced at retail. I also don't recommend purchasing on Ebay and the like because there are many fakes like CG.

Do you typically use the thumbholes? I noticed you've got one of your thumbs in one but not the other.

Too OPed, a pyrenex is just as nice for cheaper. And honestly they don't look that great IMO... a lot of em are shiny which is a huge turn off

CMFR The Bad =(
I love this jacket because it stands out from the crowd in my opinion. I love the look of CG Chilliwack, but I just can't wear it knowing that 1000 other people have it...
Anyway, these are actual problems I have with this jacket.
If this is too long and you don't want to read it, my final thoughts.
Q - Would you buy this jacket again?
Q - Would you recommended this jacket to a friend?
A - No, read below if you want to know why.
1. The Red zipper.
I love the look of it as it stands out, but there are some flaws with it...
a) One sided stitching...
because it is only stitched on one side, that leaves an imbalance when you pull on the zipper. This means the un-stitched side (the weaker side) is more prone to wear. I have attached pictures so you can see it. And I noticed this only a couple weeks after wearing it...
- notice how the right side is perfectly fine, while the less side looks worn? Looks worse in real life =(

b) Quality of the Stitching
The stitching on the zipper is not the greatest of quality. For the price of this jacket, the quality isn't there at all.
I even went back to Due West to take a look at the other CMFR jackets they had and the quality of the zipper stitching varied, but the general quality of the stitching was "poor" or not indicative of a premium jacket.
[picture; you can see that the stitching looks a little messy and frayed. As well the horizontal stitches aren't done very well. ]

c) The three open buttons on the hood
The thing about these open buttons that is quite annoying is that they make a "clanging" sound when you walk. This is because the metal ring inside is not secure and moves around (I guess this is the design of the clasp?). It isn't loud, but it's very annoying when you walk. You can hear the subtle high pitch clang...

d) The Red Zipper whips back and forth when zipped up.
So when you zip the jacket up fully, the red zipper whips back and forth when you walk. I guess it's the design of the zipper itself? and the length of it or weight of it? I'm not sure. But, this is probably one of my biggest pet peeves about this jacket. It just constantly whips back and forth and this combined with the "clanging" of the buttons is a little annoying.
- So imagine it's a cold day and you're zipped all the way up (without the hood buttons) and the red zipper is swaying back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth. It's super annoying.
e) lastly, the cuffs of the jacket.
Now, I'm assuming this is a standard problem with using this type of material because i've noticed on the bus people who wear CG have the same problem. The cuff starts to look old/fade and gets "pilling" on it. Maybe if you used a different material to prevent this, this could set you apart from CG?

The biggest thing that really annoyed me is the quality of the zipper. How is it that a jacket that costs ~$600-900 have such poor craftsman ship in regards to their signature designs?
This is the case for all the zippers at Due West. They are all of this poor quality. Unless it was just their batch of jackets? Can those with a CMFR comment?

CURSES. Canuckerr apparently posted it in two different threads no less, and I even typed up a nice detailed reply to confirm his observations: http://forums.redflagdeals.com/alter.../#post14242163
Now it looks like I'm just talking to myself and like I'm conversing with the voices.
Jeez, guys, why does jacket discussion always heat up around 10:30pm EST, the time when I should theoretically be hitting the hay for eight hours of sleep? I don't think I have actually gone to bed any earlier than 1am ever since I joined this forum. No wonder I'm so blasted when I get to work every morning.
