Somewhere in South Dakota is the McFarthest Spot, the place in the US geographically most removed from the nearest McD’s (*). If you started out from this location, a few miles north of State Highway 20 (which runs latitudinally between Highways 73 in the west and 65 in the east), you’d have to drive 145 miles to get your Big Mac (if you could fly, however, it’d be only 107 miles).

30,000,000 people in canada
1400-1500 mcdonalds in canada
=1 restaurant for every 20000
tim hortons has 3000 stores in canada, many of which were opened within the past 10 years. do the math. I can then reasonably conclude that canada's increase in obesity has a direct correlation to the amount of donuts that are available and accessible to the public. therefore, tim hortons = mcdonalds US for canada x 2?
see the messed up logic?LOG IN TO THANK No one has yet thanked Siefer999 for this post.

Interesting, there seems to be at least a loose correlation between the 2 maps.
But that leaves us with a chicken or the egg situation. Are there more fat people in the east because there are more McDonalds, or did they open more Mcdonalds in the east to service an already gluttonous demographic?_______________
