oversized suit

I purchased a size 44 suit a year or so ago, but now im size 38. Although it was not a really expensive suit, I spent over 250$ for it. I do not wish to throw the suit away, but I am not sure how much would the tailoring cost be. and im not sure if the suit is going to kept in its original shape and form after the alternation.

Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you

No way a tailor is going to be able to make that suit fit you without mangling the whole thing. Consider the 250 an rather inexpensive lesson in suit buying. You are much better off buying something new.
