The one match I played as Junkrat, the other team couldn't even touch the first objective. Planting his steel trap and remote c4 slowed enemies down, and then propping myself in an elevated position nearby allowed me to just hurl nades down. But as you mentioned about Bastion, it's just a function of newbies not knowing what to do in situations, and just running in blindly without any sense of who they're facing.Redmask wrote: ↑May 5th, 2016 12:26 pmYeah no one knows WTF they're doing in beta so give it some time I'm not trying to be the "L2P!" guy or something but he is decently balanced, people just haven't learned the counters yet.
When I played as Bastion people were literally just throwing themselves at me without even using abilities or attempting to really avoid me. It was pretty sad, felt like playing against the AI. He has 3 different hard counters just off the top of my head - Reaper, Reinhardt, Pharah and there's several others who can use indirect fire to do the same. I haven't played much Junkrat so no clue on that one.
Widowmaker was another one who's a beast against low level players. Her grappling hook makes her a hard target if you find a good spot, and the mines really help protect against rushing opponents.
The times I've taken out Bastion easily, it was using Winston's jump to get behind him. But there are chokepoints where it wasn't possible to jump over, or when the Bastion player was using elevation well to make him harder to hit.
I'm really liking D.Va too, and I had a lot of fun just using Mei to block off and separate enemies who weren't playing in a coordinated way. The variety of characters makes this game really good, but it just seems like noobs in the beta are more concerned with getting kills so they're ignoring some of the more fun characters.
