P4 2.0 Ghz VS Celeron 2.4 Ghz
just savage a bunch of computer parts from some old computers.
And would like to take the best parts and built a decent computer rag for my little cousin to screw around. Which one of these would you say its better CPU to put in?
Thanks_______________

Celeron is usually the 'overly-crippled' version (lower FSB, less L2 cache) of the CPUs to target the value segment of the market. According to the reviews, Celeron 2.8GHz is <<<<< P4 2.4GHz in gaming. So it's pretty safe to say that P4 is the better CPU in this case even though the clock speed is a little lower.
However, when you mix-and-match components, you need to make sure the CPU socket on the motherboard can handle the CPU. They may have different sockets sometimes.Last edited by willy; Jun 24th, 2008 at 07:23 AM.

If it's a Celeron D 320, it will be faster. Otherwise P4.

Thank you all for your help.
Now I just need to find a PCI Wireless card that supports WPA2 and a 1GB PC3200 stick_______________
