Hey guys,
I got a few quotes recently on getting just a few items painted (replica sideskirts, and spoiler mounts)
One shop quoted me $700ish because the prep work, priming, and painting they have to do. Also I would have to leave my car there for a day to really blend the colour. This didn't sound right.. Why would I have to leave my car there? They already have the colour code needed to get the job done. Not to mention, this is not possible. As I use my car for work.
Another place quoted me $900!
I have taken things to Velocity in the past, but has been a hit and miss with them. But I want to get a few more places if anyone has any feedback. Before I take the pieces to Velocity. I can't see myself paying $700-900 just to paint these items. The sideskirts and spoiler alone was already $500 together.

It all depends on the paint quality and color. Any pearl paint will be much more expensive than plain or even metallic colours.
Pearls take 3 coat (base, pearl, clear) and it's really hard to match.
My front bumper's painted at Velocity and there are tons of road rash for 1 yr driving. Cheap but not that great quality.
Rear bumper I got done at a smaller shop (The Car Image in Thornhill). Paint quality was top notch but matching was a little off. Sucks to have pearl white
I'm thinking of having everything repainted when I get some sideskirts in a few months....

Colors fade , so unless you would like the body kit not match , don't leave the car. Keep in mind that even if you leave the car it still not be a 100% match but will be close.
Out of curiosity, how much do you think it should cost ?

Will give Alphawerx a call tomorrow and maybe a visit. Never heard of these guys before however. Thanks!
I've had work done by Ron before. Was excellent! Wasn't aware they paint individual parts as well.
To be honest, in my past experience of getting frontlips painted. I never had to leave my car there. I thought getting 2 sideskirts, and spoiler mounts painted would be roughly $500-550. Never expected $700-900 and that doesn't even include installation.

I thought 700-900 was with install but wow, way too much for just paint.
I'm personally planning about 1000 for front/rear repaint, sideskirts prepped and painted and right rear quarters redone. Previous owner didn't really take care of the area around the fuel door and there are a ton of paint chips

You think $1k will cover the paint job of the stuff you want to get repainted?
Anyways dropped by Alphawerx today, and gave my sideskirts and spoiler mounts to Phil. He gave me a much better price than what I was given by the other shops. Now I'm just gonna wait and see how well its done.
If he does a good job, I'll also have him paint my front bumper.

Richard at Friendly Autobody (next door to Jimmy @ Street Performance) for paint. In regards to getting things installed, i would do research beforehand to know what is the best practice/procedure. I allowed him to glue my OEM side skirts on with some sort of industrial urethane (made my decision based on his experience with drill vs. glue and fear of rust), and now one side keeps coming of slightly
