Panasonic battery question?

So the original batteries in my Panasonic arent holding charge, i changed them to the amazon aaa batteries to see if it would make a difference which it probably will.

My question is, can i leave them charging overnight or even when it says "fully charged" can i still leave it in the charging base without any worries? Will the batteries automatically stop taking current/ stop charging even when its still connected to the charging base? Trying to avoid a fire
