Just as a follow-up, I preordered my pizza at 1pm for pick-up at 5:30pm. I show up early at 5:15 and my pizza is sitting there waiting in the heating rack. I asked when it was made, and they said it just came out of the oven. When I got home, the pizza didn't seem fresh. I think the pizza had been sitting around for a while. They have a money back guarantee, but I really don't want the hassle or to waste time doing that type of stuff. I don't think I will pre-order again. Next time I will order and immediately go and pick it up. Pretty disappointed.

On the plus side, it was less than $10 for a large.

What location? I'd be less than impressed with that too. 15+ mins on the rack isn't acceptable IMO. Though I did order from PJs in Pickering by pre-order and it was exceptional

Thanks OP. Tried Papa John's for the first time last night, and I was very disappointed.

I thought Domino's is a much better pizza. The dough tastes better and they're much more generous with their toppings.
I read your post earlier tonight but thought I would try Papa John's anyway. I had to log back on and say I agree with you 100%. We ordered a large "Pan John's Favorite" and got 50% off tonight so only paid $9.98. (By the way - someone said they didn't think the 50% worked for pan pizzas but it worked for us. We just started building our pizza from scratch and applied the promo code at the end tonight and it worked no problem.)

For $9.98, it is a pretty decent pizza but Domino's pan pizza is much, much better. Even when Domino's pan pizza is 50% off, they don't cut back on the toppings like Papa John's did with us tonight.

My two cents.

Call in and talk to a manager. I'm sure that's not following policy and they'd probably make it up to you some how.

Thanks OP, I grabbed three XL pizzas for my family, super cheap.
Weird that their checkout was displayed in British pounds though.

Thanks OP. I have only tried this pizza once before. I tried the one that had different types of cheese blends in the pizza with pepperoni. Forget the name, maybe Johns favorite it was called. It was ok I guess.Too much cheese taste though. Any recommendations?. Maybe will try just regular cheese/pepperoni I guess
Not sure if this is a compliment, or a criticism. ;)

Compliment for me since i like cheese taste but if you don't like cheese, then probably criticism (then again if you don't like cheese, you probably should stick with specific/specialist pizza shops since most franchise shops relies on cheese...).

Haha true. First pizza I bought from them had that blends of different types of cheese. I wasn't too impressed. Thought I would give this pizza chain another try and ordered an x-large pepperoni , regular cheese pizza. Didn't impress me at all. Will stick to my Pizza Nova for now

This is good to know, thanks. I always had trouble with my method of doing it where I apply the code first thing and then build the pizza after. I'll try it your way next time (there are always coupons for Papa John's of at least 25%).
